Clifton E. Bibbins, 38, of Utica, was arrested last week in connection with a home invasion shooting from earlier this month in the town of Lansing.

On Thursday (October 21), the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody without incident.

The department’s Specialized Response Team (SRT) was deployed in order to ensure things went safely.

Police say Bibbins took part in an armed robbery that occurred back on October 14 at the Milton Meadows Apartments.

A 31 year-old male was treated and released from a nearby trauma center for a gunshot wound to his foot; along with minor lacerations on his head.

According to the victim, two subjects rushed him immediately when he opened his apartment door at around 11 pm that night.

Bibbins was remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail.

His charges include:

  • Assault in the 1st Degree (B Felony)
  • Burglary in the 1st Degree (B Felony)
  • Attempted Robbery in the 1st Degree (C Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (C Felony).

The investigation is ongoing.
