An arrest has been made into the investigation of a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred last week around 4 in the morning on Stillwell Road in the Town of Solon. The Sheriff’s Office has identified one of the occupants of the vehicle as Isaac D. Faircloth.
The Sheriff’s Office says Faircloth, while on scene, obstructed the investigation and was also found to be in possession of a stolen credit card. The investigation also found Faircloth violated a full stay away order of protection in the City of Cortland.
Public assistance is being asked for by the Sheriff’s Office for any information on the whereabouts of Faircloth and the unidentified occupant of the vehicle during the early morning hours prior to the crash (between 1am and 3:53am). The Sheriff’s Office says both were in a red 2015 Nissan Sentra and the time of the crash. It is believed both were in the area of Cortland, Cortlandville, McGraw, and the Town of Solon during the time period. Any information or video footage is being sought that will help in the investigation.
Faircloth is facing charges of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd, Grand Larceny in the 4th, and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd. He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process and remanded to Cortland County Jail on $500 cash and $1,000 bond.
He is due to appear in Cortland City Court tomorrow and Solon Town Court next week.
The investigation into the fatal motor vehicle crash remains ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 607-758-6151.
