Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested After Stealing Heroin in Cortland

An armed robbery that occurred around 2 in the morning on April 10th of this year at a residence on Greenbush Street led to a victim being robbed at gunpoint while stealing numerous bags of heroin from the victim.



After an investigation, the City of Cortland Police Department determined after collecting evidence that Casey Cole Burke and Richard T. Stevens were found to have robbed the victim by gunpoint.

Both suspects entered the residence without permission and conducted the robbery.

They were arrested and charged with Robbery in the 1st degree, Burglary in the 2nd degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree, Conspiracy in the 4th degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, all felonies.

Burke and Stevens also faced a misdemeanor charge of Menacing in the 2nd degree.

Both were sent to Cortland County Jail without bail.
