Speed Awareness Week will begin this coming Monday, August 14th and go through the 20th both the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee have announced.
The campaign will focus on reducing speed related crashes and help save lives. The Sheriff’s Office says with the increase in engagement and enforcement on speeding for the week, underscores the severity of the problem both locally and nationally.
Officers from the Sheriff’s Office will work towards informing the public about the dangers of speeding and will enforce posted speed limits and problem areas within Cortland County.
