Last week area law enforcement and first responders from Cortland Police, Camillus Police, SUNY Cortland, and Cornell University all participated in their 12th annual Crisis Intervention Training (C.I.T.).
The training is an extensive and dynamic training course with a focus on Mental Health. The course provided training to better equip both law enforcement and first responders in dealing with emotionally distressed and/or mentally ill individuals in various situations.
Both Deputy Director of Community Services from the Cortland County Department of Mental Health, Patricia Schaap and from the City of Cortland Police Department, Officer Saladino co-instructed the training.
