Area Arrests: City Police Arrest Women Obstructing Traffic; Sheriff Deputies Arrest Women After Crash

Last Friday evening (August 3rd) around 8:20pm, Cortland Police responded to Arthur Avenue where a woman was standing in the road obstructing traffic, yelling and screaming, according to police.

36 year old Kelly Flint, fought with officers when she was arrested.

She’s charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

She was released to appear in Cortland City Court on August 15th.


Last Wednesday evening at 5pm, Cortland County Sheriffs responded to a 1-car crash on Highland Road in Cortlandville.

The driver of the car, 43 year old Kelly Sovocool, was driving northbound on Highland Road when she went off the road, striking a street sign and fire hydrant.

No injuries were reported, however upon further investigation, she was found to be intoxicated and her license was suspended.

She was arrested, charged with a DWI, driving unlicensed, and an improper right turn. Sovocool was arraigned at the Town of Homer Court, bail was set at $1000 cash or $2000 bond and due back in court the next day.
