Over the past month, some people who live on East Homer Road in the Town of Homer noticed personal checks were missing.
Cortland County Sheriff’s investigators quickly learned that two people living at the home had cashed several checks here and in Onondaga County, to the tune of $3,000.
The two left town to stay at a hotel in DeWitt.
DeWitt police there arrested them early Saturday and returned them here.
Bradley MacLean is the relative allegedly with sticky fingers.
Investigators say he’s 27 and lives in Cortland
He’s charged with felony Grand Larceny, Conspiracy, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and of Stolen Property.
MacLean is at the Cortland County Jail awaiting bail and a court hearing Monday (today), according to Sheriff’s Lt. Todd Caufield.
The other person, who faces the same charges, is Sonia Martin, 23, of Cortland.
She was released until her next court date after Labor Day.
Caufield tells us the investigation continues and additional charges are possible.
