Cortland County is now accepting applications from existing and start-up small businesses who are looking to access up to $35,000 in financial assistance. The pre-applications are due April 1st.
The pre-applications are part of the County’s effort to secure up to $300,000 in grant funds through New York State’s Community Development Block Grant Program. The County Legislature voted in January to apply for the funds.
In 2017, the County applied for and received Microenterprise Assistance funds, which were used to fund a Microenterprise Assistance Program (MAP) administered county-wide in 2018-2019.
The County has decided that it will pursue funding again this year.
Paul Heider, Chair of the Cortland County Legislature said,
“While the County is relatively new to this initiative, we feel we can be competitive in the grant process and have hired local community development consultants, Thoma Development Consultants, to assist us in preparing and submitting an application.
Contact Thoma Development Consultants at 607-753-1433 or email the Program Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org for an application.
