Anonymous donor gifts $6k to CPD “Shop with a Cop” event
Local News December 14, 2020City of Cortland Police issued some heartwarming updates regarding their “Shop with a Cop” program.
Officers took the first 15 kids on a special $150 holiday shopping spree at the local Walmart.
A total of 70 nominations came in this year, according to community officer Jesse Abbott.
He originally said there was only enough funding to select 30 participants.
However, a very generous community member recently donated enough money for the remaining 40 kids to participate, a total gift of $6,000.
Additional participants will be contacted in the coming weeks.
