Annual Downtown Holiday Window Decorating Contest Returns in City of Cortland

The City of Cortland’s annual Holiday Window Decorating contest for local businesses and organizations in the downtown area has once again returned.

“The City of Cortland is inviting local businesses and organizations to extend a big Welcome HOME for the Holidays this season by entering the 2025 Downtown Cortland Holiday Window Decorating Contest!” According to the city via an online post.

All businesses in the downtown area are automatically in the running for the Cortland Holiday Spirit Award. The award is given after a panel of judges make their decision on who this year’s winner will be. No sign-up is necessary for this award.

There will also be a People’s Choice Award presented, too. This award however, does require registration. It may be done online HERE. Registrations must be received to the city by December 15th. Residents will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite display. Voting will take place from December 16th through the 28th.

Winners will be announced on New Year’s Eve.
