The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage and is urging people if they are able to, to donate blood.
The shortage is due to an overall lack of donations and a lower number of blood drives during the Independence Day week. Blood is being distributed to hospitals faster than it is being donated.
If you’re able, stop at a Blood Drive and make a donation, you could save a life. The next Blood Drive is this Friday (July 13) at the Cortland Regional Medical Center from 11:30am to 4:30pm.
