Around 11:20 pm last night, a call came in for a reported structure fire at 5203 Gee Brook Road, with reports of smoke and fire seen.
Cincinnatus, Willet, McGraw, Marathon, and Cortlandville Fire Departments were dispatched to the address. A State Trooper, who was clearing an accident that occurred early on Route 41, was the first to arrive at the scene to confirm heavy smoke and fire at the residence.
The building was occupied by one person with pets inside the building. The occupant was able to get out along with the pets that were inside the building. As firefighters arrived they found the fire coming through the roof of the garage area of the one story ranch and called for an all hands fire.
A water source was set up and crews eventually were able to knock out the fire. All fire services were returned back to service around 1:43 am Wednesday. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
Cuyler and Smithville provided standby assistance as fire crews worked on the structure fire.
