Around 7:30 yesterday morning, a call came into 9-1-1 dispatch of a reported garage fire at a residence near the corner of Piety Ridge Road and Texas Valley Road.
Both Marathon and Cortlandville Fire Departments responded to the scene along with MAVAC with an ambulance. Arriving units to the scene confirmed a fully involved garage that was attached to the residence.
A second alarm all hands fire was requested. Additional fire departments from Cincinnatus, Virgil, Killawog, and Willet were called. Cortlandville was requested to have one additional engine on standby and Harford Fire Department to standby at their station.
Firefighters were able to have the fire extinguished about an hour from the initial time of call. A majority of the fire was kept to the garage area. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no injuries were reported.
