All Hands Fire Brings in Multiple Fire Departments to Town of Willet

Around noon today (April 14th), a call came in for a reported structure fire at 1029 State Route 26 in the Town of Willet.




Firefighters from the Willet immediately responded and confirmed the dispatch of heavy smoke visible from a distance of the address. Upon arrival the building was fully engulfed in flames and the trees near the building were also on fire.

A second alarm all hands fire was issued and fire departments from Marathon, Cincinnatus, Smithville, Whitney Point, and McDonough assisted the Willet Fire Department in battling the fire.

Firefighters were able to get most of their fire out within 30 minutes of the call. Route 26 was closed as firefighters were on scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. State Fire is assisting in the investigation. No injuries have been reported.
