The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation along with the Department of Health have issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for today, June 28th.
The advisory covers Eastern Lake Ontario, Western New York, and the Central New York Regions. Air quality levels are expected to reach an “unhealthy” level.
The Central New York Region is expected to reach an AQI (air quality index) of 105 fine particles. This level is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. A good level for AQI is in the range of 0-50.
