An agreement has been put in place by New York State to address key priorities in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget.
Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced the decision, which is highlighted by various investments. Those include improving public safety, creating a stronger health care system for the future, increasing the minimum wage for three years, and supporting New Yorkers with disabilities and mental health issues among other measures.
Officials say that with conceptual agreements in place on these decisions, the legislative houses of the State Senate are expected to pass bills enacting these priorities. Currently, the total budget for New York State is estimated at $229 billion.
