Adam Ant Sets Fall Theater Tour

Music News

’80s MTV icon Adam Ant will head back to North America this fall for string of theater dates, according to Brooklyn Vegan. Ant’s tour will feature him performing his 1982 solo debut, Friend Or Foe, in its entirety, including such favorites as “Goody Two Shoes,” “Desperate But Not Serious,” and the album’s title track.

Adam Ant explained that he’s a far different performer these days than he was at height of his “New Romantic” phase which coincided with the dawn of music television: “I’m glad I’m not. I’m glad I’m not trying to be either, because I think that’s rather embarrassing. I was a boy then — I’m a man now. We were very much vilified by the music press, ’cause of the type of music and the look, so we had to go to Europe and play. But I probably did 300 gigs before I went on Top Of The Pops and then it (snaps fingers) — bang.”
