The organization AAA is advising drivers on the best ways to safely transport a Christmas tree this holiday season.
Officials say getting the tree home safely is a lot like moving furniture or other large objects. If not properly secured, it can cause vehicle damage or fly off and become a danger to others on the road. Research done by AAA shows 44% of Americans would transport a tree using unsafe methods, such as tying a tree to the roof of their car without a roof rack or placing it in the bed of their pickup truck unsecured.
AAA says transporting a Christmas tree is easy so long as you remember tips including using the right type of vehicle, using quality tie downs, and driving slowly and easily.
