Organization AAA is offering tips to keep the public safe on the road during ongoing issues with winter weather.
This time of year is rated one of the worst for driving in treacherous conditions, leading to about 46% of crashes involving bad weather. AAA’s top three tips for driving during these times include slowing down, increasing space between yourself and other vehicles, and braking THEN turning.
AAA adds that if you do find yourself off the road in your vehicle to stay calm, stay in your car with the seat belt on, and call 911 if you find yourself in an emergency situation. Only exit your vehicle to clear your car’s tailpipe for ventilation should you find yourself stranded.
