With Halloween expected to reach an all time high of spending totaling nearly $10.6 billion dollars. Triple A reminds motorists important steps to have a safe Halloween.
With children being out on the streets trick or treating, the risk of injury from motorists greatly increases. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that Halloween is one of the top three days for pedestrian injuries and fatalities.
Tips for motorists include:
- Slowing down in residential neighborhoods and obey all traffic signs/signals.
- Drive around 5mph below the speed limit to react to children that may be in the streets.
- Keep a lookout for children walking in the street, and curbs.
- Cautiously enter/exit driveways.
- Never Drink and drive, plan ahead and have a sober plan.
