AAA – Gas Prices Continue Their Decline- National Average at Three Year Low
AAA says the national average for a gallon of gas is nearly at the $3 dollar mark. The continuing decline in gas prices has prices at a three year low. The average price for a gallon of gas in New York is not too far off, at $3.15 a gallon; a year ago the average was $3.49.
Gas prices have not been below the $3 dollar mark nationally since May 2021. Prices are expected to continue their decline thanks to an increasing gasoline stock. For Cortland County, the county average, according to AAA, stands at $3.23 a gallon. Neighboring Tompkins County’s average gas prices are much higher than Cortland’s at $3.36 a gallon.
“For drivers who use diesel fuel, the national average price for diesel is $3.51, down three cents from last Monday. The New York average is $3.86, down one cent from last Monday.”
AAA said in a release.
