Local police agencies are reminding parents to help keep kids safe this Halloween weekend.
Parents are urged to know their trick-or-treater’s route and to make everyone has a flashlight.
Make sure costumes do not contain trip hazards and masks don’t restrict vision. Put glow tape or other reflective items on dark costumes.
Only visit well-lit houses. Don’t stop at dark houses, and inspect all treats before allowing kids to eat them.
For drivers, slow down and watch for children crossing the street in unusual areas.
There will also be extra police patrols out this weekend looking for drunk drivers.
