Don Henley Celebrating His Past And Present On Tour

Music News

Don Henley is back on the road in support of his first solo album in 15 years, the critically acclaimed hit Cass County. The current shows mix the old and new, with a clutch of songs from the new set, along with such solo classics as “Dirty Laundry,” “The Boys Of Summer,” “The Last Worthless Evening,” “New York Minute,” The End Of The Innocence,” “The Heatt Of The Matter” — and even a cover of Tears For Fears’ 1985 chart-topper, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.”

We asked Henley about how the crowd is responding to the shows over the past few weeks: “Y’know, it’s getting better every night. The audiences have been very respectful; they’ve been very receptive. I think we play about 11 or 12 of the new songs during the set, and as long as we mix it in with the older stuff that they’re familiar with. . . I put a lot of thought into the sequence of the set, so we don’t do too many new songs in a row, ‘cause I don’t wanna lose them.”
