Cortland Man Sentenced for Stealing E-Reader From Marathon Library

A Cortland man has been arrested for stealing an electronic reading device from the Peck Memorial Library in Marathon.

Back on July 23rd, Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the library on Main Street in Marathon.

Police say Stephen Oliver of 34 South Ave., Cortland took a Nook-E reader from the library. The electronic device is valued at $300.

Oliver was charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny when he was arrested last week.

Oliver was sent to the county jail on $100 cash bail or $500 bail bond. He’s due back in court Wednesday.
