New York’s Craft breweries, cideries, and distilleries saved over $424 thousand dollars in fees over the last 3 years thanks to a roll back in regulations.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says the savings have been reinvested back into these small manufacturing businesses.
Since 2014, the number of farm distilleries has increased by more than 25 percent from 62 to 78. In 2011, New York had only 10 distilleries.
Cuomo has pushed to lower costs and cut red tape for the state’s craft beverage producers.
The state dropped a brand label registration fee and eliminated second license for farm distilleries.
