Dryden CSD Voters Approve $3M Capital Improvement Project

Local News

Residents in Dryden Central School District on Tuesday (December 10) voted to approve a $3M capital improvement project that mostly involves the installation of a new turf field at the high school athletics complex, Volante Field. (more here)

That vote was held at the district office at 118 Freeville Road in Dryden.

In addition to the new turf field, drainage improvements will also be made, along with the addition of a new sound system for the field and interior corridor safety improvements made district-wide.

A proposition was also approved for the district to acquire an adjacent property on Pleasant Street for future development projects.

Funding for the project is completely covered by leveraging New York State Building Aid, managing debt service payments, and using the District’s existing capital reserve funds, according to district officials.

The project will be tax neutral, resulting in no additional tax increase for Dryden CSD residents.
