Community Input Sought on Two Year Tompkins County D.S.S. Plan

Members of the public in Tompkins County are invited to comment on a new two-year plan outlining how the Department of Social Services provides employment services for Temporary Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients.

Included in the new plan are summaries of current work development, training and education programs the County provides or contracts out to other agencies.

The plan, which covers two calendar years from Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2021, was prepared by DSS for the State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, and outlines the ways local recipients of assistance will be prepared for employment and self-sufficiency.

Copies of the plan will be at the Tompkins County Public Library and at the DSS front desk, with comments being accepted for the next 30 days.
