Local News

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office today (November 12) responded to an early-morning bus crash just before 2 a.m. on Interstate-81 Southbound, about a quarter-mile south of Exit 13 in Preble.

Investigators say a 2007 transport bus was headed to New York City when the driver, 45-year-old Yong Zheng, lost control on the snow-covered highway and went off the roadway, ultimately turning the bus over onto its side in the median of the interstate.

Zheng was ticketed for driving at speeds not reasonable and prudent for the dangerous conditions.
