Officials with the National Weather Service have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Cortland County and much of Upstate New York, running from 1:00 this afternoon (November 11) until 9:00 tomorrow morning.
A wintry mix is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening, changing to all snow overnight as temperatures fall rapidly and freeze over any wet, untreated roads.
Locally, anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice are possible, along with potentially record-low temperatures.
These conditions could impact commutes both this evening and tomorrow morning.
Be sure to slow down and use caution while traveling and stay tuned with X101 Always Classic for real-time weather and traffic updates.
“This impending snowstorm could be problematic and cause dangerous conditions across the state, so I urge New Yorkers to be prepared and use caution when driving,” Governor Cuomo said. “State agencies are watching the weather system and stand ready to assist our local partners if needed.
