The Child Development Council is now accepting referrals in Cortland County for Family Services, a home-visiting program that’s already helped Tompkins County families with young children for over 30 years.
Family Support Specialists provide parents in the program with information on child development, parenting skills and community resources to help them meet their basic needs and make progress toward their education, employment and parenting goals
Any family in either county with at least one child age five or under qualifies for the program, with priority given to families who are not yet connected with other services.
The expansion into Cortland County was made possible by a five-year grant from the Hoyt Memorial Children and Family Trust Fund.
