Marvin Windows Sales & Service Staff to Continue Operating Locally

Local News

WXHC broke the news yesterday (October 30) that Marvin Windows & Doors plans to close its Cortland distribution plant on Route 11 at the end of this December. (See that story here)

We still haven’t heard back from company officials, but several sources have confirmed the Marvin brand itself is not shutting down.

It’s only the warehouse in Cortland that will close, which has been the premier distributor of its products throughout Upstate NY and Northern PA since 1983.

Employees in Cortland have been offered openings at other Marvin facilities in Connecticut and Minnesota, and some sources have told us the company has been helping them look for other jobs they may qualify for closer to home.

As for sales and service staff, early reports have said they’ll continue to operate out of their homes in the area.

Again WXHC News is working to get more details and a potential statement from the company, so stay tuned on this developing story.
