A Preble man was arrested for driving while intoxicated Friday (October 11) afternoon after being involved in a two-car accident in the village of Homer and subsequently leaving the scene.
Village Police responded to the crash just before 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of North-West Street (Route 281) and Stanford Drive, where they say 46-year-old Jason Forshee, of Otisco Valley Road, had already fled northbound on Route 281.
According to Chief Bob Pitman, a witness to the accident followed Forshee and reported his license plate information to the Cortland County 911 Center.
State and Homer Police then responded to his residence and were able to locate and arrest him without incident just past 4 p.m.
Forshee was remanded to Cortland County Jail on $1,000 cash/$2,000 bond and rescheduled to appear in Homer Town Court on November 5.
The driver of the other vehicle in the accident was not injured.
