Volunteer firefighters in the village of Dryden are staying busy this week for National Fire Prevention Week.
The Neptune Hose Company will host its annual Open House on Saturday (October 12) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring apparatus tours and safety demonstrations by several first responder agencies, including police, fire, & EMS.
There will even be a medical helicopter landing (weather permitting), along with food, family fun and the arrival of Dryden’s brand new aerial ladder truck.
While that’s going on, a Red Cross blood drive will also take place simultaneously in the department’s meeting hall, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dryden crews will also be out at the elementary school this week, connecting with students and teaching them about fire safety & prevention.
Additionally, they’ll hold the popular “Read with a Firefighter” program tonight (October 9) at 6:00 at the Southworth Library.
