Residents Advised Of Resurfaced Phone Scam Involving Guthrie Impersonators

Local News

Guthrie officials are alerting residents about a resurfaced phone scam, where perpetrators are able to make “Guthrie” appear on the caller ID and impersonate a staff member to ask for personal information and request payment for an outstanding bill.

The scam is not new, but has been particularly active in recent days.

If residents get a call like this, they’re advised to take the phone number and call back, allowing them to verify the call actually came from Guthrie.

Those who confirm they received a fraudulent call are asked to notify local law enforcement.
