The Cortland County Chamber of Commerce yesterday (August 28) announced that it was named this year’s “Chamber of the Year” by the Business Council of New York State.
Chamber President Bob Haight made the breaking announcement from last night’s “Business After Hours” event at Family Health Network’s CNY Administrative Offices on Route 281 in Homer.
“We feel very proud and blessed,” Haight said. “We have such a great group of members and a great team at the Chamber: Volunteers, an active Board of Directors and the many partners we work with like you [X101] that do so many things to represent us well. We’re thrilled; honored; blessed; pumped.”
X101 was on-location for a special broadcast from the event, which was held this month at Family Health Network to celebrate the official leadership transition from retiring CEO, Walt Priest, to his successor, Kim Osborne.
She will be with Family Health Network for 30 years in March 2020.
The Chamber of Commerce holds a “Business After Hours” event each month from an area business that serves as both a promotional vehicle and a social setting for valuable connections to be made.
Haight praised the Chamber’s ability to find and execute so many events and expects more of the same next year.
Cortland County is expected to be the site of the annual Chamber Alliance of New York State (CANYS) Leadership Conference in 2020.
