An off-duty SUNY Cortland officer is being credited with saving a life this month.

Officer Steven Rolfe was working his second job at Walmart in Ithaca on August 2 when he was forced to spring into action, pulling from his years of training and successfully delivering CPR to a person in need.

The procedure would ultimately save the person’s life.

University Police at SUNY Cortland posted to their Facebook account, recognizing Officer Rolfe’s quick response and dedication to helping his community wherever possible.

Congratulations and thank you to a true hero “on and off the field.”
