Arc of Madison Cortland Receives NYSARC Grant for Recreation Programs

Local News

The Arc of Madison Cortland has been awarded a grant from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services, in order to support the organization’s recreation programs.

NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trusts (SNT) that can make dramatic improvements to the lives of people with disabilities, while maintaining their eligibility for public benefits programs, such as Medicaid and SSI.

The program has already gone on several group trips this year and hosted a number of guests and special events.

“I have enjoyed many trips that the NYSARC grant has funded,” said Erica Ostwald from The Arc of Madison Cortland. “I went to the Sterling Renaissance Fair last year with five other individuals. We saw a jousting match, a few comedy plays, and the people who ran the shows all dressed up in the era and talked like they did back then too, it was a great time.”
