An Ithaca firefighter passed away on Monday (July 8) after losing a battle with job-related cancer.

Daryl Pace was just 36-years-old and retired from the job a few months ago to spend more time with her family.

She was a graduate of both SUNY Cortland and Homer Central Schools and had been with the Ithaca Fire Department for the last 10 years.

A “Line of Duty” memorial service will be held in her honor on Wednesday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at Stewart Park in Ithaca.

Pace’s family is asking that those who wish to remember her consider a donation to the Cancer Resource Center, 612 W. State Street, Ithaca, NY 14850.
