Annual Fourth of July DWI Crackdown Runs Statewide Through Friday (July 5)

Local News

State and local law enforcement will once again increase patrols to crack down on drunk driving and other infractions for the 4th of July holiday.

That crackdown began on Saturday (June 29) and will continue through this Friday (July 5).

State Troopers will conduct sobriety checkpoints and target reckless and aggressive driving statewide in an effort to keep New York highways safe.

July 4th is historically one of the busiest travel holidays and AAA says this year’s expected 49 million would be the most Americans traveling for a holiday on record.
