Don’t miss an evening of good food, music and community this Sunday (June 2) at the Cortland Police Department’s Community Outreach Picnic and Stone Soup Event.

Court Street will be shut down and a long table will be set up, where community members can sit side-by-side and try different soups from local eateries accompanied by bread from the Price Chopper bakery.

Food will be served 6 p.m. until gone.

There will also be live music outside Cortland Beer Company, as well as arts & crafts for the kids, an interactive reading of the Stone Soup book at the Cortland Free Library and a family-friendly movie at Courthouse Park that starts at 8 p.m. – all that for free thanks to generous donations and sponsorship from the Summit Federal Credit Union.

No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the street, but Cortland Beer Company will be open that evening and drinks can be enjoyed in the outdoor seating area near the music stage.

Cortland Police Department:

Everyone is welcome, as we want this event to build relationships with our many diverse groups. And remember: “Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.”
