Police Searching For Vandal Who Broke ‘Child of Ithaca’ Statue

The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism to the iconic Child of Ithaca statue on the Ithaca Commons, which they say occurred the night of April 21.

The statue is of a female sitting at a table with a cup in her hand. Video surveillance shows an unknown subject break off the cup from the able and run away.

The cost to replace the cup and repair the statue is approximately $1,500 dollars.

Police say the suspect is a white male, about 20 years old, with average build and dark colored hair.
