35-year-old Daniel Belue of Groton is facing felony charges after State Police say he stole a John Deere tractor from a residence on Groton City Road and sold it to an unsuspecting buyer.
Troopers received a report on April 8 and were able to locate the tractor the next day at a residence in Summerhill. They later discovered the resident had bought it unsuspectingly from Belue.
He was arrested, arraigned and released for a future appearance.
Cortland Police arrested 21-year-old Christian Rodriguez, of Reynolds Avenue, on Thursday afternoon (April 25) after he utilized an online scam to order Dominos pizza with the credit card of an unsuspecting female victim in Louisiana.
Police say they used the very technology he ran the scam with to identify and locate him.
He will appear in city court on May 10.
Cortland Police arrested 25-year-old Branden Lotts, listed as homeless, for violating his probation and lying about his identity while being interviewed about his own warrant.
Officers say they were looking for Lotts around 8:00 Friday night (April 26) at a residence on Tompkins Street and interviewed several individuals at the apartment–one of them being Lotts himself, who initially showed Police fake identification.
When they figured out he was lying, Lotts was taken into custody and brought to the police department. He then broke free from his arresting officer and ran, but was caught a short time later not far from the police department.
Lotts was remanded to jail and will appear May 3.
24-year-old Peter Balzani of Central Avenue in Cortland was arrested for DWI around 2 a.m. Saturday (April 27) for driving the wrong way on Cortland’s one-way Main Street. He appears May 15.
