Deadline For Annual Lime Hollow ‘Tick Fest’ Song Competition Is April 19

Local News

Spring is here, which means it’s almost time for the Lime Hollow Nature Center’s Annual ‘Tick Festival,’ taking place Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m.

May is Lyme Disease Awareness month and Lime Hollow does its part to both bring attention to this debilitating illness and to equip people with the knowledge, tools and techniques necessary to minimize their contact with ticks so “Ticks Don’t Suck the Fun Out of Nature.”

They say their goal is to educate through entertainment. The day will be filled with engaging, hands-on activities. Refreshments will be provided by the Blue Tusk and Crush Dog House food trucks.

The highlight of the event will be the musical competition where both novice musicians and seasoned veterans will be vying to write and perform tick themed songs.

X101 Always Classic’s Vincente Bellardini will be one of the judges on the panel at the song competition!

Songs should be acoustic, original song or new lyrics to old tune, 3-4 minutes in length, and will be judged on informative content and humor for a family friendly event.

There will be a three divisions: Junior Artist ($50 prize), Amateur Artist ($100 prize) and Seasoned Artist ($500 prize).
