Mary C. Tinker, 97, of Cortland, passed away Thursday April 4, 2019 at Cortland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility. Born August 23, 1921 in Cortland, Mary was the daughter of Dominick and Giacondina Antonucci Puzo.
Mary was a lifelong Cortland resident and a graduate of the 1939 Graduating class of Cortland High School. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church and was employed for many years at the Cortland Line Co. Mary loved to play bingo and pitch with her friends at the Friendship House. Mary’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cortland Park Nursing Home who helped make Mom’s last days comfortable.
She is survived by her children; John of Glen Bernie, MD, James (Pamela) of Remsen, N.Y., Jacqueline (Anthony) DiLucci of Cortland, Michael (Susan) of Mint Hill, N. Carolina, and Robert (Tina) of McGraw, N.Y., a sister; Benedetta Yacono of Cortland and grandchildren; Elizabeth, Alicia, Jeffrey, Steven, Lauren, Erin, Brian, Christopher, Alexander, Jake and Grant and eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Raymond Tinker and siblings; Daniel Anthony Puzo, Louis Puzo, Thomas Puzo, Joseph Puzo, Margaret Yacovone and Jennie Fiorille.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Prayers of committal will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St., Cortland, N.Y.
