Less than three months into his Congressional term, District 22 Representative Anthony Brindisi (D) already has a challenger for his seat in Washington in the 2020 elections.
Binghamton-area native George Phillips announced yesterday (March 14) that he will officially enter the race as a Republican to challenge Brindisi for the seat.
According to his campaign website, Phillips has spent much of his career as an educator, both in high school and college.
He also served as an aide to Rep. Chris Smith of New Jersey.
Phillips previously ran for the seat in 2010 and 2016, losing both times.
