$8 Million In Grants Available For Affordable Housing

Local News

Attorney General Letitia James says New York municipalities and counties can apply now for $8 million in funding that’s been added to further expand the State’s Community Land Trusts initiative.

The funding be used to create or further expand local Community Land Trusts, which are nonprofit organizations dedicated to stewarding permanently affordable housing and community assets.

Up to eight municipalities and counties will be selected to support these Land Trusts in their region.

Any municipality or county with existing or emerging CLTs are eligible to apply.

Applications are due on April 1 and awards are expected to be announced mid-May 2019.

Funding for the initiative comes from the Attorney General’s Office settlements with the Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS to address the banks’ misconduct that contributed to the housing crisis.

Enterprise Community Partners is partnering with the Attorney General’s Office on this initiative.
