Snow, Frigid Temperatures Expected As Weather Advisory Issued in Cortland

The National Weather issued a winter weather advisory that went into effect at 7 a.m. today (February 27) and lasts until 4 a.m. tomorrow.

That advisory in effect in Cortland, Tompkins and 10 other nearby counties. The Weather Service says we can expect anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow, which will lightly overspread the area this morning and turn into a band of heavier snow later on.

At peak snowfall, rates of 1 inch per hour are expected in some places.

Travel impacts will be greatest this evening when that heavier snow is expected to occur.
