A drug bust in Auburn yesterday afternoon (February 19) led to the discovery of drugs, an AR-15 assault rifle and several handguns.
Members of the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Orchard Street just past noon, with help from the Auburn Police Department and the NY Army National Guard Counter Drug Task Force
Discovered in their search was an AR-15 assault rifle and several handguns, along with 1.0 g heroin packaged in 45 glassine envelopes, 73.8 g molly, 3.4 g marijuana, 19 suboxone strips, and multiple scheduled prescription medications, according to Auburn Police.
Arrested at the scene were 36-year-old Floyd Chavis and 45-year-old Lynn Boothroyd.
Both are now facing multiple felonies and more charges may be forthcoming.
The case is now being prosecuted by the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office.
