State University of New York Chancellor Kristina Johnson was at SUNY Cortland today (February 14) meeting with school officials and touring the campus.
Johnson also met with members of the media around 11:00 this morning inside the College’s Student Life Center, speaking very highly of SUNY Cortland in her statements:
“The commitment to service; the commitment to mitigating climate change; the level of engagement campus-wide. It’s really a family and it’s very impressive,” Johnson said.
Today’s visit is part of Johnson’s ongoing commitment to visit all 64 campuses in the SUNY system. \
Cortland was the 55th stop and she’ll be making her 56th later today to Cayuga Community College after making a quick trip back to Albany.
Her schedule in Cortland was very quick today, but Johnson says she is already looking forward to coming back.
“I played lacrosse in college so I want to come back and see a lacrosse game. I also want to come back and look at the STARS tutoring programs. I’ve just gotten so many little windows into Cortland that I want to come back and explore.”
