The Moody Blues’ Justin Hayward has postponed his 10-date solo run, which was to start later this month. Hayward’s gigs were set to play in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. There’s been no rain check dates announced for scrapped shows yet.
Hayward posted a message to fans on his official Facebook page, which reads:
Due to a medical condition that prevents me from doing extensive traveling in the next few weeks, I have made the decision to postpone all the February and March tour dates after my On The Blue cruise engagement. The concerts affected are February 16th (through) March 3rd. We hope to announce the rescheduled new dates in the next month.
My sincere apologies to all who have tickets for this run of gigs. I thank you in advance for your kind understanding. Postponing is tough for us all, but not when it comes to our health.
I’ll be back on the road very soon.
Justin Hayward told us that unlike some bands who get bored playing their classics night after night for decades on end — he feels having a beloved repertoire is a blessing: “These songs mean a lot to a lot of people, and I think as the years go by, it seems that they become even kind of dearer. And I think that’s a wonderful thing for us to be able to share, anyway — certainly is from my point of view. They’re a pleasure to perform. I don’t get tired of them, no.”
